1808 SOLDIER'S LETTER from Jno. [John] Drage, Private King's Own Militia, East Bourne Barrks. addressed to Olney near Newport Pagnell, Bucks, showing an EASTBOURN mileage mark. The letter regards the writer's allowance from the Parish of Clifton (...the Parish of Olney [to which I belong] can have any claim on my Allowances [as a Ballotted Man for the Psh. of Clifton]...).
